ART 345: Design Systems 2 / Section 2: May 2012

Final Pickup

Your project folders are graded and on the table outside my office. You can pick them up at anytime before Saturday and then I pitch them out so make sure to pick them up. I wish those of you that are not taking any further classes the best of luck and I'll see you on your senior project. Those of you that are coming back in the fall. Keep designing to keep those skills up! Have a safe and happy summer!

Finals!!

Just a reminder...come and get your frames out the resource room in the art department! Some of you have work from the student show. You have until the end of the day tomorrow to get it out of resource room or it will be going in the trash and I hate to trash good projects so come and get them!

FINAL REQUIREMENTS

Portfolio for Class

1. 10 logos in pdf format (centered on 8.5x11 in multiple page pdf)

2. Business Card Package (photographed / jpeg and pdf of files)

3. Film Fest / pdf of poster / jpeg of guerilla / jpeg of standup

4. SGA / pdf of poster / jpeg of item / jpeg of guerilla

5. Resume / REVISED PDF (make changes suggested so that it would be something that you would turn into a future employer)

6. Package / jpeg of item in environment / jpeg of individual packages (2 photos / studio shot)

7. Class Projects - pdfs / presidential campaign logo / crests / captain crunch box

FINAL PROJECT

CRITIQUE

Must be dressed for critique. Your glass frames are in the resource room in the art department please pick up at your leisure. You will need to have a picture of your package in the store environment in the frame. You will also need to have a final picture of your box and bottle in the frame.

You must have a finished box and finished bottle present at the critique...this will be passed around during critique so make sure that it is sturdy and not too delicate.

LEFT SIDE

1. Research (5 on bottle and 5 on box - 10 total / have these numbered)

2. Logotype Thumbnails / 3 pages for box and 3 for bottle / 6 pages total / have these labeled and numbered

3. 2 sets of 3D thumbnails (hand-drawn) ...take a photograph and print off for folder (2 box / 2 bottle / label and number these)

RIGHT SIDE

1. Rough Set - One (one box and bottle printed on the computer) These need a photograph and print off for job folder (label these)

2. Rough Set - Two (one box and bottle printed on the computer) These need to be photographed and printed off for the job folder (label these) / This is the opposite of the first rough.

3. Rough Set - Three (one box and bottle printed on computer and developed fully out) These need to be photographed and printed off for the job folder (label these).

4. FINAL - Photograph of the box in the environment (aka on the shelf) printed in color on 8.5x11

Thursday - Last class before finals!

Hey guys,

You have one more rough...you need to take the best concept and work it out to be as close to the actual packaging graphics as possible. You need to fix errors of closing and make sure the box will work in it's final form. You need to make sure that you have all the needed elements of net weight, ingredients, nutrition facts, etc. You need to have one rough for the box and one for the bottle. Make sure that you keep all these renditions of roughs so that you can take photographs of them for your job folder. Thursday will be a work day so make sure that you are ready to work on stuff in class.

Also don't forget to bring along your A-Game for tournament play:) We will do a quick critique then tournament. Those that would like to make treats for the class. We have 7 people so make sure to make enough.
